Details of the 2026 UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship

The UNESCO–IHE Delft Rotary Scholarships are intended to promote enduring, fruitful connections between Rotarians and highly qualified experts in the water and sanitation industry in various locales.

About 150 scholarships have been given to deserving students all across the world since the relationship started in 2012.

The goal of this strategic partnership between The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education is to increase the number of qualified professionals who can plan, design, and implement sustainable solutions to the world's water and sanitation problems, especially in developing and emerging nations.

Scholarships are given out every year to graduate students enrolled in the Netherlands' IHE Delft campus thanks to this collaboration.

Requirements for the 2026 UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship

In order to be eligible for the 2026 UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship, candidates must adhere to the following selection criteria:

Locals who have already been accepted into the IHE Delft MSc Program in Water and Sustainable Development under one of the following thematic tracks are interviewed and chosen by Rotarians:

• Water and Health

• Water, Food and Energy

• Water Resources and Ecosystems Health

• Water Hazards, Risks and Climate

The sponsoring Rotary Club and the applicant submit a completed application form to the joint Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee after the candidate is deemed suitable. Additionally, copies of the proposal are forwarded to the sponsoring district's District Rotary Foundation Chair and District Governor.

Following the awarding of a Rotary scholarship, the sponsoring Rotary Club keeps in touch with the recipient on a frequent basis for the course of their study. The Rotary Global Grant method is used to administer funding for qualified applicants.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step) for the UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarship in 2026

Candidates who are qualified and interested should take the following actions:

1. The deadline for applying to the IHE Delft Master's Program in Water and Sustainable Development is April 1, 2026.

2. Find the Rotary Club that is closest to you early on in the application process.

3. Make a formal nomination request for a Rotary Scholarship by contacting the Rotary Club.

4. Together with the sponsoring Rotary Club, fill out the scholarship application.

5. By April 15, 2026, the Rotary Club must submit the full application to the Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee in the Netherlands.

6. The results of the selection process will be communicated to all candidates by May 15, 2026.

7. The Rotary Foundation's official endorsement, which is anticipated by July 1, 2026, is a prerequisite for the final approval of chosen candidates.
