Eligibility Requirements for Shanghai Government Scholarship 2026

To be considered for the Shanghai Government Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be a non-Chinese citizen
Be in good health
Demonstrate good academic performance and behavior
Meet the admission requirements of the chosen academic program
Meet the Chinese language proficiency requirements of the chosen program

Age and Qualification Requirements

Applicants for the pre-college program must have a high school diploma and be under 23 years old
Applicants for the undergraduate program must have a high school diploma and be under 25 years old

Shanghai Government Scholarship 2026 Benefits

The Shanghai Government Scholarship is divided into two categories:

Type A: Full Scholarship

Full exemption from tuition fees
On-campus accommodation in an economic double room (shared public restroom)
Off-campus living allowance of 700 RMB per month per person (with institutional approval)
Monthly living allowance of 2,500 RMB
