Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the UM Bright Talents Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

• Hold a nationality outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland and be eligible for a Dutch entry visa and residence permit

• Not hold dual nationality from an EU/EEA country or Switzerland

• Have never enrolled in a degree-seeking higher education program in the Netherlands

  • Students who previously participated in exchange programs in the Netherlands may apply

• Be 35 years old or younger as of 1 September 2026

• Commit to acting as an active Brightlands and Maastricht University ambassador during and after the study period

• Have applied for admission to a participating UM Master’s program for the 2026–2027 academic year

• Meet all specific admission requirements of the selected Master’s program

• Submit only one application with complete and accurate documentation (documents cannot be added or replaced after submission)
